Disney’s Camp Rock Delivers in U.K., Germany

MUNICH/LONDON, September
22: Camp Rock drew in 2.4
million viewers on Disney Channel in the U.K. in its premiere weekend, making
it the most successful non-sequel ever on the channel, surpassing High
School Musical
by 23 percent and
ranking number one in its time slot for kids in all U.K. homes.

The premiere attracted
780,000 viewers, and pushed up Disney Channel’s audience day share to 11.6
percent, the channel’s best day share among kids across multichannel homes so
far this year, and its third best of all time.

The Disney Channel
original movie also had its first European free-TV launch, on Germany’s
ProSieben, ranking number one in its time slot with kids 3 to 13 with a
25.2-percent share. The Disney original stands as the highest rated live-action
movie on ProSieben in 2008 with kids 3 to 13. Camp Rock achieved a share of 30.6 percent with young people
aged 14 to 19 as well.

Since premiering in the
U.S. and Canada on June 20, Camp Rock has reached nearly 46 million unduplicated viewers in the U.S.,
Canada, Latin America, Southeast Asia and Hong Kong.
