Verizon V Cast Adds Full-Length Episodes

SAN FRANCISCO, September
10: Verizon Wireless has ramped up the content offerings on its V CAST mobile
service, including making available full-length TV episodes from MTV Networks
and NBC Universal.

The MTV Networks deal
includes a broad selection of titles from MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1, CMT, Logo and
MTV Tr3s. Key offerings include The Hills, My Super Sweet 16 and
Paris Hilton’s My New BFF from
MTV; H2O from Nickelodeon; and I
Want to Work for Diddy
and I
Love Money
from VH1. In a separate
agreement with BET, Hell Date
and Comic View: One Mic Stand are available on V CAST.

The NBC Universal
partnership, meanwhile, covers series from NBC, Telemundo, USA Network, SCI FI
Channel and NBC Universal Digital Studio. Included are 30 Rock, The Office, Kath & Kim, Life and Knight Rider from NBC; library fare like Miami Vice; Telemundo’s El Juramento, Dona Barbara and Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso; USA’s Starter Wife;
SCI FI’s Ghost Hunters; and NBC
Universal Digital Studio’s Gemini Division.

Customers can watch the
full episodes in a series of bite-sized video clips.

Separately, V CAST has
aligned with numerous brands for a slate of new mobile channels delivering
short-form content. Among the providers launching channels on the mobile
service are TLC, Animal Planet, Planet Green and Discovery Kids from Discovery
Communications; the G4 Channel from Comcast Entertainment Group; The WB Channel
from Warner Bros. Television Group; HGTV and Food Network from Scripps
Networks; and DC Comics and Scooby-Doo & Friends from Warner Bros. Digital
Distribution.

partners in order to provide individualized entertainment for each one of our
millions of V CAST customers," said Terry Denson, the VP of content
strategy and acquisition at Verizon. "V CAST Video not only lets our
customers view clips wherever and whenever they want, but it also lets
customers satisfy all of their interests while on the go."
