VMtv Restructures Exec Staff

LONDON, August 29: Mark
Sammon, the senior commissioning editor of LIVING, has been promoted to the
newly created role of head of commissions for Virgin Media Television (VMtv),
while Chris Collie has been upped to the head of scheduling and channel
strategy.

Collie, previously the
head of scheduling for LIVING and Virgin 1, will take on added responsibility
for the remaining VMtv channels Bravo, Trouble and Challenge.

Sammon’s appointment is
part of a restructure of the commissioning team at VMtv. He will be responsible
for commissioning all original productions across the company’s portfolio of
entertainment channels. Sammon reports to Claudia Rosencrantz, the director of
television for VMtv.

Rosencrantz said: “Both
Mark and Chris’s appointments complete our strategy to integrate and strengthen
the VMtv portfolio by bringing the channel teams together and working truly
collaboratively. Having worked with Mark now for ten years I trust his judgment
completely. He is a fantastic commissioner, and broadcaster, with an acute
editorial eye and he will really bring the team together. Chris has proved
himself to be an outstanding scheduler over the last two years at LIVING and
Virgin 1 and his input, dedication and passion has been integral to the
development of the portfolio’s overall strategy.”
