Cosmopolitan Television Expands Canadian Footprint

TORONTO, August 21: Rogers Cable is launching Corus
Entertainment’s Cosmopolitan TV in Ontario and New Brunswick, extending the
female-skewing channel’s reach to nearly 5 million households.

The network, created in partnership with Hearst Corporation
and inspired by the bestselling eponymous women’s magazine, is now available as
a free preview to all Rogers Digital Cable customers with a set-top box,
starting today.

The channel’s programming is targeted at women 18 to 34, and
includes the flagship Oh So Cosmo as
well as marathons of Sex and the City and The Bachelor. Also on
the network’s schedule are The Agency, a seven-part series that follows bookers from the Wilhelmina modeling
agency; Abbey and Janice: Beauty and the Best, starring Britain’s Next Top Model star Abbey Clancy and supermodel Janice Dickinson;
and Dirty Cows, a look at a group
of English women who fight dirty to win over a wealthy, handsome farmer.

"There has been a great deal of excitement around the
launch of CosmoTV and the audience reaction to the channel has already more
than delivered on our expectations," said Paul Robertson, the president of
television at Corus Entertainment. "We are really pleased that CosmoTV
will now be available to even more women across Canada. CosmoTV builds on Corus
Entertainment's growing portfolio of women-focused brands—including Canada's
number one specialty channel for women, W Network—that offer Canadian
women the services, programs and the entertainment they are looking for at
every stage of their lives."
