FremantleMedia Inks Deal with Avatar Community

BOSTON, August 14: FremantleMedia
Enterprises (FME) has entered into a licensing agreement with WeeWorld, an
online interactive avatar community that is home to some 23 million “WeeMees”
worldwide.

FME will be working with
its North American and U.K. licensing network to develop new products based on
the WeeWorld brand and its avatar, the WeeMee. FME will manage the licensing of
the brand across a wide range of categories, including collectibles, apparel,
home, toys and gifts.

“WeeWorld is one of the
most exciting interactive properties around, and it is an ideal partner for
FremantleMedia Enterprises,” said David Luner, the senior VP of interactive and
consumer at FME. “We recognize WeeWorld as the leader in the space because of
its large footprint in the digital entertainment industry and devoted global
fan base of more than 23 million WeeMees worldwide.”

“Online experiences
increasingly intersect with real-world experiences because members of this
connected generation want to express their personalities and individual styles
both on and off the web,” added Lauren Bigelow, the general manager and senior
VP of marketing at WeeWorld. “Our partnership with FremantleMedia Enterprises,
an established media and entertainment leader, significantly extends the global
reach of the WeeMee avatar, as well as the awareness of the WeeWorld brand,
within new and exciting product categories.”
