Dork Hunters Scores for BKN

LONDON, August 14: BKN
International’s Dork Hunters from Outer Space has launched on SABC1 in South Africa, winning its
slot with an average of 192,219 viewers in its first two weeks with a 5.1
rating.

The audience rating
actually increased to 6.1 in its third week of airing, with viewers increasing
to 229,299. The series also notched up successful numbers on Clan/TVE in Spain
earlier this year, leading to a second-season pickup for the fall.

Dork Hunters from Outer
Space
will launch in the U.K. this
weekend on GMTV, followed by Network Ten in Australia in the first week of
September. Broadcasts in other major international markets will roll out in
2009. The master toy line for the property, created and distributed by
Character Options, will be available in the U.K. in late October, with an
extensive pre-Christmas TV advertising campaign planned as well.

Peter Kwele, the general
manager of marketing and communications at SABC Content Enterprises, commented:
“The ratings speak for themselves, Dork Hunters was clearly by far the highest share in its time slot.
South African kids love comedy and have taken to the humor immediately.”
