SPTI Bolsters Staff for Central Europe

LONDON, August 14: Sony
Pictures Television International (SPTI) has appointed Eddie Nelson as the
general manager of the company’s networks in Central Europe, where he will
oversee the four channel brands in the region.

Based in Budapest, Nelson’s
remit includes growing the audience share of SPTI’s AXN, AXN Crime, AXN SCI-FI
and Animax in the region, along with developing advertising and other
non-subscription revenue streams. Nelson has served as a consultant for SPTI
since 2005, advising the company on its advertising sales strategy and on
advertiser-funded productions.

Tom Davidson, the VP of
international networks for SPTI and to whom Nelson will report, said: “I am
pleased to announce the appointment of Eddie to steer our networks business in
Central Europe, an increasingly important market for us in terms of
subscription and advertising revenue. Viewers across the region have been
delighted with the variety and quality of programming we offer. The continued
growth of AXN and our other channels along with a newly invigorated team led by
Eddie, makes our channels business an entertainment powerhouse across Central
Europe.”
