ALL3MEDIA Completes Deals for Youth Drama

LONDON, July 17: ALL3MEDIA
International has closed deals for its youth drama Skins in both Spain and the U.S.

In Spain, the pay-TV
channel Tueve acquired two seasons of the drama, with Antena 3’s new digital
channel Neox to air Skins later
in the week. In the U.S., BBC America acquired the show for broadcast later
this summer.

Skins is about a group of teenagers trying to cope with
the realities of urban life. This mix of personalities includes the highly
charismatic and beautiful, yet obsessive, Tony; the hopelessly promiscuous,
victim-in-the-making Cassie; the classical musician Jal; and the black sheep of
the family, Anwar.

Skins has sold into more than 100 territories as a
completed show. A new script format option also has been agreed upon with
Cuarzo TV in Spain following a deal with Romania’s MediaPro Distribution. The
show’s second season aired on E4 and Channel 4 in February. A third season with
a new cast is currently in production.

Louise
Pedersen, the managing director of ALL3MEDIA International, said: “Skins has been one of the best dramas on the international
market for the last few years; it’s a highly distinctive, landmark youth
program. We have had a great response around the world, and the show is rating
well for many broadcasters in international territories. I believe it is poised
to grow as a scripted format.”
