ION Television Picks Up ‘90s Comedy

WEST PALM BEACH, July 8: ION Television has begun airing the
’90s sitcom Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper
after completing a deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.

The show airs weeknights as part of ION’s branded Laugh
Attack
block. It joins a summer schedule on
ION that also includes The Steve Harvey Show, Family Feud, Quantum Leap and The
Dead Zone
.

In the series, former basketball star Mark Cooper (played by
comedian Mark Curry) coaches a high school team and works as a substitute
teacher. The series, featuring Holly Robinson Peete, Raven-Symoné, Saundra
Quarterman, Marquise Wilson, Omar Gooding and Dawnn Lewis, originally aired
from 1992 to 1997 on ABC as part of its classic TGIF block.

Brandon Burgess, the chairman and CEO of ION Media Networks,
said: "Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper will
be a really fun way to kick off ION Television’s summer evenings. Not only is
the sitcom terrifically entertaining, but it appeals to a broad, multicultural
audience.”
