Endemol Closes Pre-DISCOP Deals

HILVERSUM, June 12: In the
lead up to DISCOP, Endemol International has inked a raft of format deals in
territories across Eastern Europe.

In Bulgaria, Nova
Television Plus commissioned a fourth season of Big Brother for launch in the fall, while in Croatia, RTL
picked up the entertainment format Love Letters, with the first season slated for a prime-time
slot later this year.

Kanal D in Romania snapped
up two of Talpa Media’s game shows: Divided and I Love My Country. Also in Romania, TVR commissioned a first season
for Endemol’s talent-show format Performing As. TV2 in Hungary acquired Divided and plans to launch it as a daily series this
August.

Deal or No Deal scored a pick up from TV Skopje in Macedonia, and
New Channel in Ukraine booked a second season of the talent show Operacion
Triunfo
.

Formats available for the
first time at this year’s DISCOP include Mother of the Year, a new reality show from Endemol Argentina that
celebrates moms across the nation. The format has already had prime-time
success in Latin America, with Canal 13 currently airing its second season in
Argentina and Televen in Venezuela just launching season one. Endemol’s
obstacle-course format Wipeout,
set to air in the U.S. this summer on ABC, will also be available at the market, and has
already received orders in Australia, Germany, Belgium, Greece, Sweden, Norway
and Denmark, with further deals to be closed shortly. Other highlights for
DISCOP include Circus of the Celebrities, which launches on NBC this June.
