DIC Named Licensing Agent for Penny Brite

BURBANK, June 10: DIC
Entertainment has been tapped by Charisma Brands as the global licensing agent
for the re-launch of the classic girls’ brand Penny Brite, a line of dolls originally produced in the 1960s.

DIC will create two
merchandising programs for the re-launch, including a classic retro line
targeting girls and collectors, featuring apparel, publishing, music, gifts,
novelties and more, for launch in 2009. DIC will also create a
home-entertainment program that will be supported by a licensing initiative
across toys, apparel, interactive, health and beauty, back-to-school and other
categories, in 2010. DIC is on the lookout for partners at the Licensing Show.

seamlessly with a wholesome lifestyle, appealing to girls of all ages and
collectors,” said Kirk Bloomgarden, the executive VP of global sales at DIC.
