Disney’s HSM Notches Up Strong Ratings in Russia

LONDON/MOSCOW, June 2: The
Russian free-TV premiere of the Disney Channel original movie High School
Musical
on state broadcaster
Channel One on Saturday, May 24, ranked number one in its time slot with both
individuals 4 and older and young adults 16 to 24 in national TV homes.

According to Eurodata
TV/TNS Gallup Media, High School Musical scored a 15.7-percent share among individuals 4 and older and a
24.2-percent share among young adults 16 to 24.

The broadcast premiere of High
School Musical
achieved an average
viewership of 1,829,800 individuals 4 and older, of which 214,300 were kids 4
to 15 and 392,500 were young adults 16 to 24. It also performed well with
adults 25 to 39, attracting 510,100 viewers.

The debut of High
School Musical 2
on Channel One
will take place in mid-June.

High School Musical has been licensed by Disney-ABC International
Television to free-TV broadcasters in more than 115 international territories;
it has now been seen by a total of 250-plus million viewers to date.
