Life’s a Zoo.tv Heads to Australia

TORONTO, May 21: Cuppa
Coffee Studios has closed a deal with SBS Television in Australia for the
soon-to-debut stop-motion comedy series Life’s a Zoo.tv.

The 20-episode series was
first commissioned by TELETOON, set to premiere in its post-9 p.m. Detour
Zone
. The show features a group of
animals fighting for survival in a house in Saskatchewan, and is a spin on the
reality-TV genre. Life’s a Zoo.tv will
begin airing on SBS Television this fall. The studio also looked to cement the
relationship with SBS by simultaneously signing a home video and DVD deal with
its distribution arm.

"Like TELETOON, SBS
came out of the blocks early on in our development and expressed interest,”
commented Cuppa Coffee’s president and executive producer, Adam Shaheen.
“They’ve shown great enthusiasm for our original, unique animation driven by
exceptional comedy writing."

He added: "SBS is
known internationally for their success at exposing Australian viewers to the
most cutting edge of international programming—it was the perfect fit for
Cuppa Coffee Studios.”
