Telepool Takes On The Volcano

MUNICH, May 20: Telepool
has acquired the international rights to the two-part catastrophe drama The
Volcano, a joint production from
teamWorx and RTL.

Based on a screenplay by
Alexander Rümelin, the film depicts the impact of a volcanic eruption in the
middle of Germany. The project, budgeted at 9 million euros, has been in
development for the past two years. This is the second collaboration from RTL
and teamWorx, which previously teamed for Storm Tide.

“We are proud that
Telepool will handle world sales for this great co-production,” said Irina
Ignatiew, the executive VP of international at Telepool.

“This production will
certainly cause an international sensation,” continued Ignatiew. “Everything
clicks: from the absorbing story and the group of top-class actors to one of
the best production teams in Germany.”
