President, CEO Named for JV Multiplatform Service

NEW YORK, May 19: Mark
Greenberg has been appointed as the president and CEO of the new premium
entertainment joint venture formed by Viacom and its Paramount Pictures unit,
along with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios (MGM) and Lionsgate.

Greenberg, a former
executive VP of Showtime Networks, will be responsible for the management and
development of the new venture. The upcoming premium television channel and VOD
service, set to launch in fall 2009, will showcase new and classic feature
films and original television series from Paramount, Paramount Vantage, MGM,
United Artists and Lionsgate.

While at Showtime,
Greenberg created and launched Showtime’s on-demand and HD offerings, among
other media properties. He was also responsible for the company’s sports and
event programming group and pay-per-view initiatives. Prior to Showtime,
Greenberg served a seven-year tenure at Home Box Office (HBO) in various sales
and marketing positions.

Speaking on behalf of the
CEOs of the partner companies, Jon Feltheimer, the co-chairman and CEO of Lionsgate, said, "Mark, who has
spent 25 years in the cable industry with HBO and with Showtime and, most
recently served as a strategic advisor to me at Lionsgate, is the perfect
executive to fill this important leadership role. With his long and successful
track record in the premium pay-television arena, his extensive
business-development expertise and long-standing relationships with programmers
and distributors, Mark will be a big contributor as we shape the service's
linear and digital strategy and bring important new innovations to consumers in
the premium television category."
