Comedy Central Unveils Summer Lineup

NEW YORK, May 15: Comedy
Central will continue to roll out new series and specials, as well as returning
hits, across its summer schedule, including the original variety series The
Gong Show with Dave Attell
.

On May 18 at 9 p.m., the
network will premiere the original stand-up special Carlos Mencia:
Performance Enhanced
, followed by
the launch of the fourth season of Mind of Mencia on May 21 at 10:30 p.m. New episodes of Reno
911!
will debut May 22 at 10:30
p.m., with guest appearances this season by Patton Oswalt, Nick Swardson and
Ron White.

June will see the series
premiere of Atom TV, which
features the best online webisodes from Atom.com, as well as the third season
of Live at Gotham, which rolls
out June 6 at 10 p.m. The stand-up special Gerry Dee: No Reading Ahead will debut on the network June 7 at 11 p.m.

In July, Reality Bites
Back
, hosted by Michael Ian Black,
will make its series debut. The spoof show watches ten comedians pitted against
one another to perform episodic parodies of the popular network reality shows.
Another new series, The Gong Show with Dave Attell, a take on the classic ’70s variety show, will
make its debut on July 17 at 10:30 p.m. Reel Comedy: Step Brothers, which gives a sneak peek at the new Will Ferrell
and John C. Reilly film, will air July 21 at midnight. On July 27 at 10 p.m.,
Comedy Central will showcase the network television premiere of South Park’s Imaginationland: The Movie. And Lewis Black’s Root of All Evil returns for a second season on July 30 at 10:30
p.m.

The stand-up special Jimmy
Dore: Citizen Jimmy
makes its
television network premiere on August 1 at 11 p.m., and Jon Stewart begins his
coverage of the Democratic National Convention with The Daily Show with Jon
Stewart: Indecision ’08
, airing
August 26-29 at 11 p.m. The show
continues on with coverage of the Republican National Convention from September
2-5 at 11 p.m.
