Global Television Presents New Summer Lineup

TORONTO, May 14:
Canwest-owned Global Television will introduce a variety of new programming
this summer, spanning the comedy, drama and reality genres, including CBS's Swingtown.

Last Comic Standing, which premieres at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 22,
is an international search for the funniest undiscovered comedian. Comics from
all over the world put their acts to the test for the chance to be one of the
top 12 contestants that will move on to the finals and compete for an NBC
talent deal. Additional reality offerings on Global include Big Brother, which returns for a tenth season on Sunday, July
13, at 8 p.m.

On the drama front,
Global’s summer schedule will also include the new, two-part four-hour original
mini-series Burn Up, starring
Neve Campbell. It debuts on Tuesday, June 10 at 9 p.m., with the second
installment airing the day after in the same time slot. Burn Up is a conspiracy thriller that revolves around the
politics of climate change and focuses on the battle between environmental
activists and oil company executives faced with economic success and ecological
responsibility. Other dramas on the lineup include Swingtown, which premieres on Thursday, June 5, at 10 p.m.
and is centered around one family's move into an affluent Chicago suburb, only
to discover their neighbors share much more than just recipes; and In Plain
Sight
, which rolls out on Tuesday,
June 17, at 10 p.m., and stars Mary McCormack as Mary Shannon, a U.S. marshal
attached to the highly secretive Federal Witness Protection Program. Rounding
out the drama slate is Durham County, debuting on Monday, May 19, at 10 p.m.
