The CW Highlights 90210 in New Schedule

NEW YORK, May 14: A
spin-off of the hit ’90s drama Beverly Hills, 90210 joins returning series Gossip Girl and America’s Next Top Model on The CW’s 2008-2009 schedule, which focuses on
the female 18-to-34 demo.

Dawn Ostroff, the
president of entertainment for The CW, presented the lineup yesterday in the
Tent at Lincoln Center. "With shows that everyone is talking about, from Gossip
Girl
and America's Next Top
Model
to our upcoming 90210, our new lineup has the best Monday-Friday
schedule flow we have ever had at The CW," she said. "We are zeroed
in on our target demo of young women 18-34 with both new and returning series,
and each programming block provides a strong promotional platform for the
following night. We're confident that the quality of our shows for the fall
season will make The CW the destination for young women."

The hit dramas Gossip
Girl
and One Tree Hill return to the network, airing back-to-back on
Monday nights with hour-long time slots beginning at 8 p.m.

Tuesday’s prime-time
schedule will feature two new series, with the premiere of 90210 at 8 p.m.—with Lori Loughlin (Summerland) and Jessica Walter (Arrested Development) cast alongside guest star Jennie Garth, who
played Kelly Taylor in the original series—and Surviving the Filthy
Rich
—based on the
bestselling book Hot to Teach Filthy Rich Girls by Zoe Dean—at 9 p.m.

America’s Next Top
Model
is back in its successful 8
p.m. time slot on Wednesdays, followed by a new fashion reality show, Stylista, from the creators of America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway. The new series will follow 11 hopefuls as they
compete in weekly challenges to vie for a fashion editorial job and other
prizes.

The duo of Smallville and Supernatural reprise their respective time slots at 8 p.m. and 9
p.m. on Thursday nights, while Friday sees the biggest change to its lineup, as
returning series Everybody Hates Chris and The Game fill the
8 p.m. hour once taken by WWE’s Friday Night Smackdown!, which has made a new home on MyNetworkTV. An
encore presentation of America’s Next Top Model will round out the evening at 9 p.m.

For midseason, Reaper, which features a slacker who has been charged as
the devil’s bounty hunter, will
return for a second-season run.

As previously announced,
the Sunday night lineup has been farmed out to Media Rights Capital (MRC),
details of which will be announced at a later date.
