Spike Unveils Non-Scripted Original Pilots

LOS ANGELES, May 8: Spike
TV has revealed a slate of male-skewing, non-scripted original pilots, which
includes the new docu-series River Men, centered on the work of the men who tow barges through the
Mississippi River.

The development slate also
includes USA vs. The World,
which features Americans who do some of the roughest jobs in the world. Each
episode will feature three of the best Americans that perform a certain job,
and identify the country whose citizens might do it better.

Tank and Cobra follows a real-life bounty-hunting duo who have
been tracking down criminals for more than ten years through their company,
Lightning Strike Force. Bruce Toms (Work Out, Nanny 911) and Amy Shpall (Work Out)
of Liberal Media and Todd Dahlke of Necessary Evil serve as executive
producers.

Rounding out the slate are
Human Predators, which gives
first-hand accounts of people who take lives both professionally and
criminally, and Idiot Hall
of Fame
, which uses real footage
to look at some of the most reckless and mindless actions of all time.

"We are thrilled to
be partnering with some of Hollywood's most creative minds to present a
development slate that we feel will further the notion that Spike is a true
destination for original programming for guys," said Sharon Levy, the senior VP of original series for Spike TV.

In addition to the new
pilots, the network has also signed on two new talents—Total Non-Stop
Action Wrestling champion and former Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle and
former Navy SEAL officer Cade Courtley—for the previously announced
pilots Caught in the Action and
Surviving Terror, respectively.
