Virgin1 Lines Up Factual Commissions

LONDON, May 7: Virgin1
has commissioned three one-off factual programs for its upcoming prime-time
lineup, dubbed The Rude Season.

Premiering this summer,
the hour-long shock-doc tentatively titled My Free Boobs, from Amaze TV, explores the rising Internet trend
of social-networking websites offering women the chance to raise funds for free
breast implants.

Also from Amaze TV, the
one-hour program Happy Birthday Viagra celebrates the 10th anniversary since the U.K.’s National Health
Service (NHS) first approved the drug for use as treatment for male impotence.
The documentary will look at people whose lives have changed as a result of
Viagra.

The new lineup also
includes The Sex Lives of Twins,
an hour-long doc from Cheetah Television, an Endemol company, which takes an
in-depth look at the lives and minds of twins.

Daniela Neumann, the
acting director of programs for Virgin1, said, “Virgin1’s upcoming season
embodies the very essence of original content that we’re undertaking this year.
Smart, informative and enquiring…these shows will push boundaries and really
get people talking. These programs are fundamentally intelligent docs on sex
and sex lives today.”
