PorchLight Snaps Up U.S. DVD Rights for GI Animated Series

LOS ANGELES, May 1:
PorchLight Home Entertainment has taken on the U.S. DVD distribution rights to Boowa
& Kwala from Granada
International (GI).

Boowa & Kwala is an animated preschool series that helps children
develop their imagination through music and song. The property is based on the
website www.boowakwala.com and is directed by Xavier Picard (The Littlest
Pet Shop). The preorder date for
the DVD is September 10, while the street date is October 14.

Brenda Bisner, the VP of
acquisitions for children’s programming at PorchLight Home Entertainment,
commented: “PorchLight Home Entertainment team is pleased to extend its
relationship with Granada International and to bring the charming animation of Boowa
& Kwala to preschoolers in the
U.S.”

Added Carol Lee, the VP of
home entertainment for North America at Granada, “Boowa & Kwala is already a hit in Australia and Asia and we are
happy to partner with PorchLight Home Entertainment for this program’s American
debut.”
