Nickelodeon’s Nickers Set for Rollout in Argentina, Mexico

MIAMI, May 1: This June, Nickelodeon Latin America will launch local versions of its original one-hour magazine-style show Nickers, aimed at kids aged 8 to 15, in Argentina and Mexico.

Nickers will launch in Argentina and Mexico on June 9. Both shows will air Monday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Argentina, and 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. in Mexico. Nickers will be taped at the network’s studio in São Paulo, Brazil. The show will have two local hosts in each country, with Sabrinna Macchi and Guido Botti in Argentina, and Thali Garcia and Alexander Da Silva in Mexico. The program is divided into various segments, including video clips, humor, audience interactivity via telephone calls and games alternating with Nickelodeon’s programming. In addition, the show will feature a dedicated Nicktoon block, featuring popular animated shows.

“At Nickelodeon we always strive to be close to our audience and we know that they enjoy shows that are full of energy and interactivity,” commented Tatiana Rodriguez, the VP of programming and creative strategy for Nickelodeon Latin America. “Nickers is an original and innovative format that reinforces Nickelodeon’s programming. In 2006 Nickelodeon Brazil launched the first version of Nickers with amazing success in that market. For this reason we decided to expand our strategy to include local versions for Argentina and Mexico.
