Rambo Headlines Action Package on Spike TV

NEW YORK/SANTA MONICA,
April 22: Spike TV has picked up the rights to a package of five action films
from Lionsgate, highlighted by the basic-cable broadcast premiere of the latest
Rambo installment.

Spike TV has obtained the
exclusive ad-supported cable rights in staggered windows to Rambo for four years, beginning June 2010. The latest
film features the iconic character John Rambo on a mission to save a group of
Christian aid workers who have been kidnapped by Burmese soldiers.

In addition to
the latest Rambo
installment, the other four titles in the action film package from Lionsgate
are Kickboxer, Replicant, Ticker and National Lampoon’s Van Wilder.

In an agreement with Paramount Pictures Distribution, the network has
also picked up the rights to the first three Rambo movies, beginning with Rambo: First Blood, which launches on Spike May 24 at 9 p.m. Rambo:
First Blood Part II
will begin its
run in January 2010, with Rambo III following in March 2011.

"John Rambo might
very well be the envy of every Spike guy," commented John Griffin, the VP
of programming at Spike TV. "He's not just the toughest guy on the planet,
but he uses his incredible military acumen in the name of justice."

"Rambo headlines a package of five action films that we
are thrilled to deliver to Spike TV," said Lionsgate’s executive VP of
television sales, Rand Stoll. "Spike TV offers the perfect audience for Rambo, and the delivery of this package reflects our
continued momentum in monetizing our slate of current theatrical releases and
filmed entertainment library product through strong television sales."
