CBS Unveils Summer Schedule

NEW YORK, April 15: CBS will present some 90 hours of
original programming in its summer schedule, including three new reality
series, two new dramas, two mixed martial arts live events and returning
specials.

New reality series set to launch are Million Dollar
Password
, Greatest American Dog and Jingles. Million Dollar Password,
a modern update of the classic television game show, will premiere June 1 at 8
p.m. with Regis Philbin as host. Following on July 10 at 8 p.m., Greatest
American Dog
will watch dogs and their
owners compete in games for a cash prize. Jingles will debut July 27 at 9 p.m. From executive producer Mark
Burnett, the weekly competition series challenges contestants to write and
perform a jingle about anything from products to sports teams.

CBS will also be airing a summer edition of Big Brother, which premieres Sunday, July 13, at 8 p.m. The show
will also be broadcast on Tuesday at 9 p.m. beginning July 15 and Wednesday at
8 p.m. beginning July 16.

In mixed martial arts offerings, CBS EliteXC Saturday
Night Fights
will premiere May 31 at 9 p.m.
with a live event featuring a heavyweight and middleweight bout, with a second
event to air July 26.

Drama series in the network’s lineup include Swingtown, rolling out June 5 at 10 p.m., and Flashpoint, which follows on July 11 at 10 p.m. Swingtown, from the directors of Big Love and Rome,
centers on a suburban community caught up in the culturally transformative
’70s. Flashpoint focuses on the
lives of a group of cops in the SRU, inspired by Toronto’s Emergency Task
Force.

CBS will also be airing the 62nd Annual Tony Awards,
honoring achievements on Broadway, on June 15 at 8 p.m., and a new chapter in
its Emmy Award-winning AFI’s 100 Years… series,
AFI’s 10 Top 10, on June 15 at 8
p.m.

The summer lineup will also see Without a Trace moving to Tuesdays at 10 p.m. beginning June 3, Numb3rs
airing Fridays at 9 p.m. starting July 11
and Cold Case heading to Sundays
at 10 p.m. on July 27.
