Bavaria Media Inks Deals for Telenovela

CANNES, April 10: Bavaria
Media Television has sold its telenovela Storm of Love into two additional territories: Bosnia on PBS and
Italian-speaking Switzerland on RTSI.

In Italy, where Storm
of Love
has garnered successful
prime-time ratings with commercial broadcaster Rete 4, Hachette Fascicoli
acquired the rights to publish the series, and will release it on DVD shortly.

At MIPTV, the Munich-based
distributor is offering 870 one-hour episodes of the hit series, and has
completed further deals with broadcasters who had already previously picked up Storm
of Love
. SubTV from Finland
acquired an additional 163 episodes, while Canada’s CJNT has taken on a total
of 670 episodes.

“We are more than pleased
with the continuing success of Storm of Love,” said Oliver Kreuter, the head of distribution
for Bavaria Media Television. “The series has now been sold into 22
territories. It has turned out to be a programming staple for many
broadcasters.”
