Nat Geo to Air Second Season of Taiwan to the World

TAIWAN, February 27:
National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) and Taiwan’s Government Information
Office (GIO) announced the global premiere of the second season of Taiwan to
the World
, to air exclusively on National Geographic Channel.

The second season of
5×1-hour episodes will debut in Taiwan on March 2, continuing Sundays at 9
p.m., and will premiere in other NGCI territories at a later date. Taiwan to
the World
is the only
documentary-production initiative in Taiwan by NGCI and GIO that reaches a
global audience.

The series seeks to unveil
the lesser-known secrets of Taiwan, exploring diverse contemporary subjects
such as the breeding of the transgenic florescent pigs, the modern-day
relevance of martial arts, cricket fighting and conserving the endangered
Taiwanese black bears.

Bryan Smith, the executive
VP of production at NGCI, said, "National Geographic Channel viewers from
around the world have always been fascinated with inspiring stories from Asia
and Taiwan. With the second season of Taiwan to the World, we applaud the first-rate creativity and
production capability of the Taiwanese producers as they invite viewers to
rethink the way we understand our modern world."
