Africa Channel Inks Carriage in Barbados

LOS ANGELES, January 15: The Africa Channel has entered into
an affiliation agreement with Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) for
carriage on service’s basic digital cable package.

Based in the U.S., The Africa Channel showcases Africa’s
people, culture, politics, geography and lifestyle. The channel’s schedule is
filled by more than 1,600 hours of original and first-run English-language
programming, including news and information, travel, lifestyle, music, feature
films, soaps and special events. Flagship series include Africa Within, a weekly travel hour; All You Need is
Love
, a reality series about love and
romance in modern Africa; Africa Journal, a news and information series produced by Reuters’ team of
journalists based in Nairobi; and Isidingo—The Need, a drama.

“This launch marks our continued expansion in the
Caribbean,” said Eric Brown, the executive VP of affiliate sales at The Africa
Channel. “We are thrilled to be launching The Africa Channel on the CBC
system.”
