SPTI Grows European Sales Team

LONDON, January 14: Sony Pictures Television International
(SPTI) has announced several recent appointments within its London-based sales
operation in response to continued growth opportunities across EMEA,
particularly in Central and Eastern Europe.

Moving to SPTI’s European headquarters as VP of sales is
Alexander Marin, who since 1999 has served as general manager of the company’s
Mexico City office. Marin will take on a new remit with responsibility for
distribution sales in Scandinavia and the Benelux countries. He will oversee
SPTI’s sales drive of Sony Pictures content across all distribution platforms
and windows in the region.

Mark Young has also joined the SPTI London office as sales
director. He will oversee sales across the Central and Eastern European region.
Young most recently served as commercial sales director at Zonemedia, where he
oversaw international
distribution of the channel portfolio.

Other changes to the U.K. team include Michael Dick, who
joins SPTI as sales manager, covering Greece, Turkey, Middle East and Israel;
and Oi Yee Wong, a sales manager, has taken on an expanded role supporting
SPTI’s sales efforts in the U.K. and Ireland.

The new team members report to Danny Goldman, the senior VP
of sales for SPTI.

“As new markets open up for us, the appointment of senior
and highly experienced people to our team brings new strength and depth,” said
Goldman. “These appointments enable us to exploit more opportunities for our
business moving forward, particularly in emerging markets such as Central and
Eastern Europe.”
