Canada’s Super Channel to Air Portman Film & Television Titles

EDMONTON, December 14: The recently launched Canadian pay-TV
network Super Channel has picked up a number of drama titles from Portman Film
& Television.

As part of the deal, the British distributor will deliver to
Super Channel Kingdom, a Parallel Film
& Television production for ITV starring Stephen Fry, and Party
Animals
, the BBC’s political drama made by
World Productions.

Sea Patrol, a McElroy
All Media production financed by Nine Network and the Film Finance Corporation,
is also included in the deal. The program debuted in Australia on Nine in
September. Other highlights from the package include two New Zealand series
shot in HD—Doves of War and
Orange Roughies—as well as Doc
Martin
and Angel for May.

“There were so many terrific titles available from Portman
that we felt would enhance Super Channel’s offering, we had to have this
valuable resource for Canadians as we grow our viewing options,” said Sandy
Perkins, Super Channel’s VP of programming. “With Portman, Super Channel will
continue to bring Canadians the best the world has to offer.”
