Disney Launches First HD Channel

LONDON, November 29:
Disney Channels EMEA will roll out its first branded high-definition network,
Disney Cinemagic HD, in France and other French-speaking territories.

Disney Cinemagic HD,
offering family movies, will debut in France and other French-speaking
territories on Friday, November 30 at 8:30 p.m. The HD channel will launch
exclusively in France via Canalsat; it will be available to all subscribers of
the platform's HD service who also subscribe to Canalsat’s Family Pack.

Disney Cinemagic HD is the
first children's and family HDTV channel in the French market. The HD channel
will roll out with an exclusive screening of the premiere of Brother Bear 2 at 8:30 p.m. on November 30.

John Hardie, the executive
VP and managing director of Disney Channels EMEA, commented: “Using
cutting-edge technology to help create and distribute outstanding content is at
the heart of everything we do at Disney and we’re delighted to have launched
our first high definition channel. Disney Cinemagic's focus on movies made it
the ideal choice to the launch the HD format.”

Disney Cinemagic launched
in the U.K. in March 2006. Disney Cinemagic expanded into France in September
this year. The channel offers families a selection of entertainment and movies
from the Disney catalogue—including The Wild and Cars—throughout the day.
The channel broadcasts from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.
