The Africa Channel Expands its Reach

LOS ANGELES, November 13:
The Africa Channel has launched in Southern California through Charter
Communications, and in the Caribbean through an agreement with Flow Trinidad.

The channel launched in 12
Southern California communities serviced by Charter
Communications—Riverside, Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino, Victorville,
Apple Valley, Hesperia, Big Bear Lake, Lake Arrowhead, Adelanto, Mira Loma,
Corona, Norco—and surrounding areas on a Charter Digital Channel.

After finalizing an
affiliation agreement with Flow Trinidad, The Africa Channel can now also be
seen on Flow Digital Basic. Flow is the brand of Columbus Communications
Trinidad, the largest cable service provider in Trinidad.

Jacob Arback, the
president/co-founder of The Africa Channel, commented: “We are thrilled to have
partnered with Flow on launching The Africa Channel on their system, as this
partnership marks our first launch in the Caribbean and allows us to being a
dialogue with the people of this region.”

The Africa Channel
showcases more than 1,600 hours of English-language programming, spanning from
news, music, feature films, reality, talk and event specials to soaps, travel,
lifestyle and docs. The Africa Channel aims to provide a daily window into
modern African life, showcasing a broad range of original and first-run content
from its 53 nations.

Flagship series include Africa
Within,
a one-hour weekly travel
series; Big Brother Africa, featuring
housemates from 12 different countries; and the reality series All You Need
is Love.

In news offerings, The
Africa Channel broadcasts the weekly series Africa Journal, the business outline Africa Report and Carte Blanche, which has been dubbed “The 60 Minutes of Africa.”

The channel’s lineup also
includes two successful drama series: Generations and The Need. Original series created for the network include Conversations with
Felicia
, hosted by author,
entrepreneur and African TV star Felicia Mabuza-Suttle and Africa Music!, which highlights the latest music offerings from
Africa.

Recent programming
additions to The Africa Channel are the episodic drama Jacob’s Cross, reality competition series Project Fame and Dance Africa and Urban Massive, which profiles the latest trends in fashion, music
and nightspots.
