Parthenon Kids Options Rescue Rookies

LONDON, October 25: Parthenon Kids, the children’s division
of Parthenon Entertainment, has optioned the rights to Rescue Rookies, an animated preschool property from British
production company Bada Bling.

Parthenon has the exclusive rights to further develop the
series and pitch the idea to broadcasters. The company will also own the rights in all media worldwide for broadcast to
license.

The 52×5-minute property features the adventures of a gang
of emergency vehicles—Bravo the Police Car, Lulu the Ambulance, Flash the
Fire Engine, Birdseye the Helicopter and Skipper the Lifeboat—who are
always ready for action and eager to lend a helping hand.

Rescue Rookies was
conceived, written and designed by Bada Bling’s Curtis Jobling, who is also the
designer behind the BAFTA-winning BBC/Nickelodeon show Bob the
Builder
, as well as the creator of the new
BBC animated series Frankenstein's Cat. Rescue Rookies has been
developed with Qurios Entertainment, whose managing director, Niel Bushnell, is
also the show’s development producer.

Jobling commented: "Rescue Rookies was inspired by my young children and their constant
attraction to flashing lights and sirens—I think "nee naw"
translates across the globe, as do the jobs the emergency services do. Creating
a gang of bold, colored rescue machines and an exciting, bustling multicultural
world was a very natural progression for me. The vehicles all bring a unique
attribute to the group—together they can do just about anything. In
today's world, with its recent troubled history, the emergency services have
never been held in such high regard and are perfect role models for kids
everywhere."
