USA Gives Series Order to Hit Mini-Series

NEW YORK, October 22: USA Network’s hit mini-series The
Starter Wife is
returning to the NBC Universal-owned cable channel as a full series, with Debra
Messing again filling the title role.

Messing will also executive produce the show, which will be produced
by Universal Media Studios in association with McGibbon/Parriott Productions
and 3 Arts Entertainment. Based on the bestselling novel by Gigi Levangie
Grazer, The Starter Wife is about life
after divorce and one woman redefining herself after years of marriage to a
Hollywood studio head. It earned ten Emmy nominations, including outstanding
mini-series.

"The Starter Wife
was a major cultural event, and an out-of-the-park home run for us," said
Jeff Wachtel, the executive VP of original programming at USA.
