Lifetime Names New Reality Programming VP

LOS ANGELES, August 10: Lifetime Television has tapped Sandy
Varo as its VP of reality programming, reporting to Jessica Samet, the senior
VP of reality programming.

In her new role, based in Los Angeles, Varo will be
responsible for developing reality programming at the network. Lifetime’s
current reality slate includes Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead, returning for its second season October 12; the new
competition series America’s Psychic Challenge; and coming January 2008, How to Look Good
Naked
with Carson Kressley.

She comes to the position from CBS, where Varo previously
served as the director of alternative series, working on titles such as Survivor,
Amazing Race, Big Brother, Rock Star: INXS and Rock Star: Supernova.
In 2004, she served as producer of FOX’s Hell’s
Kitchen
and story producer on Big
Brother 5
. Additional credits include
serving as supervising producer and senior producer at Film Garden
Entertainment, producer on MSNBC’s Headliners & Legends and various reality series and specials for Discovery
Health, TLC, E! and WE.
