BBC Entertainment Channels Acquire Southern Star TV Movies

SINGAPORE/SYDNEY, August 8: BBC
Worldwide has acquired three Southern Star TV movies for broadcast on the BBC
Entertainment channel in India, Asia and Africa.

The titles, Empathy, Sea of Souls and Life Line, were all produced by
Carnival Film and Television Production for BBC One. Commenting on the
acquisition, Susan Lee, the manager of acquisitions and content at BBC
Global Channels said: “Our ambition for BBC Entertainment is to offer the best
of contemporary drama and entertainment, and these three thrillers play to this
strength. We really liked the psychological feel and pace of all three films,
and believe they will play well to Indian, Asian and African audiences.”

Empathy centers on an ex-con whose paranormal visions assist
the police in the hunt for a murderer. Sea of Souls sees Bill Paterson
return in his role as Professor Douglas Monaghan in a paranormal thriller that
stretches over 100 years of history of one family. Life Line is a love story with an urban twist.
