Scholastic Preschool Series Returns to qubo

NEW YORK, June 21: Scholastic Media’s stop-motion animated
preschool series Dragon will return to qubo—the children’s programming block airing on
NBC, Telemundo and ION Television—for a second season of 13 new episodes,
this September.

Dragon made its U.S.
broadcast premiere on qubo last
September. Based on the books by Scholastic award-winning children’s author Dav
Pilkey, the series follows a blue dragon and his menagerie of animal pals as
they explore themes identifiable to children such as “Friendship,” “Being
Afraid” and “Trying New Things.” The series is co-produced by Canada’s Cité-Amérique,
Germany’s scopas medien and South Korea’s Image Plus.

“Following a successful first season, when U.S. audiences
first met the beloved character Dragon and his friends, we’re thrilled to bring
kids a new lineup of exciting new Dragon
stories,” said Leslye Schaefer of Scholastic Media.
“We are pleased to see that kids really connect with the heartwarming
adventures and life lessons that Dragon presents.”

qubo is a new
bilingual, multiplatform service for children that was formed by Scholastic,
ION Media Networks, NBC Universal, Corus Entertainment and Classic Media/Big
Idea. It is currently broadcast on NBC Saturday mornings, ION TV network
Fridays afternoons, and Telemundo weekend mornings.
