Telefe International Closes Historic Broadcast Deal in Brazil

BUENOS AIRES, June 7: Telefe International has sold
the mini-series Detectives, Brothers & Co to the Brazilian broadcaster Bandeirantes, marking
the first time that an Argentine series will be aired on television in Brazil.

The deal is also
significant because Brazilian broadcasters have traditionally purchased a very
limited amount of finished programming, preferring instead to produce much of
their schedules.

Detectives, Brothers
& Co
, produced by Telefe
Contenidos, is a mini-series starring Rodrigo de la Serna as Franco Montero, a
detective who, upon his father’s death, finds out that he has
an 11-year-old half brother with an extremely high IQ. Since there are no other
relatives, a judge decides the boy is under Montero’s care. Rodrigo Noya also stars in the mini-series, which is
directed by Damián Szifrón, the creator of Pretenders.

Michelle
Wasserman, the head of programming sales of Telefe International, commented:
“We are proud of this great achievement, which was the result of years of
efforts, persistence and hard work of our team. This is the result of a unique
combination: a catalog of the highest level from an artistic, technical and
creative standpoint and the sales force of the Telefe International team which
carries great expertise and a strong passion for their job.”

Diana Coifman, the senior sales executive of Telefe
International, in charge of Brazil, commented: “Considering Brazil is a fiction
producer and a very difficult territory for foreign products to penetrate, the
sale of Detectives, Brothers and Co
is a clear proof of the highest standards of production, quality and creativity
of Telefe International.”
