Cake Entertainment Brokers International Deals for Edgar & Ellen

CHICAGO, April 13: Cake
Entertainment has brokered new deals for the animated half-hour series Edgar
& Ellen,
produced by Star Farm
Productions and Bardel Entertainment, in Israel, Europe and Canada.

NRK in Norway and Noga
Communications in Israel have acquired the series for broadcast. LUK
Internacional SA has acquired all rights to the TV series in Spain, Portugal
and Andorra, and will serve as a specialized distribution partner. In addition,
with Cake’s support, Star Farm partner Bardel Entertainment has licensed Edgar
& Ellen
TV rights to Canadian
broadcaster SRC. Cake Entertainment is the European distribution partner for
the Edgar & Ellen TV
series.

Since MIPTV last year, the
series has been licensed to Nicktoons Network in the U.S., YTV in Canada,
Nickelodeon UK, ABC Kids Australia and Nickelodeon International. At MIPTV this
month, Star Farm will bring further Edgar & Ellen opportunities to the marketplace and will also
provide sneak peeks for other select properties that are in early stages of
development.

The TV series is set to
premiere on Nicktoons in August and on YTV in Canada in September. Each episode
of the series, which is targeted at kids aged 6- to 12-years-old, features two
pranksters named Edgar and Ellen. It will include content contributed by kids,
with kids’ ideas—received from www.edgarandellen.com—used to
inspire the two-minute segments of the half-hour show.

“Broadcasters are
responding very well to our approach to fan engagement,” said Susanna Pollack,
Star Farm’s SVP of global TV sales and licensing. “In addition to our efforts
online, we have seeded the marketplace with publishing. Our broadcast partners
are pleased to find a property that already has a built-in audience.”
