TV5Monde USA Launches New Afternoon Kids’ Block

LOS ANGELES, April 9: The 24-hour French-language channel
TV5Monda USA is expanding its kids’ offerings with new afternoon block
featuring both animated and live-action fare.

Launching this week, the new block will initially feature Potlach
la ferme (The Farm Potlach) and L’Ane Trotro (Tronto the Donkey), animated series for 3- to 6-year-olds; the 52×26-minute Papryus, targeting the 6-to-12 set; and the 26×26-minute Coeur
Ocean, for young adult viewers.

The channel’s COO, Patrice Courtaban, noted: “Embracing
TV5Monde’s objectives in the U.S., we have continually sought to air
programming that celebrates the French language and French culture. Part of the
channel’s mission is also to educate its viewers and by adding the new
programming block we look to introduce a whole new world to the children and
your adult viewers in our national audience.”
