Georgian Deal on Granada International’s Boot Camp

LONDON, February 9: Granada
International has licensed ITV Productions’ reality format Boot Camp to Georgia’s Rustavi 2 for broadcast early this year.

Rustavi 2 will create its own
version of Boot Camp, which sees 16
people take on the challenge of living in a tough military-style boot camp
where they are forced to face life-long phobias and overcome tough physical
obstacles when competing in individual and team games. At the close of each
episode, the contestants face evaluation by their peers, which determines who
goes and who stays. The final episode will feature the last two remaining
contestants competing for a large cash prize.

Giorgi Khaburzania, the director of international projects
at Rustavi 2, commented, “Reality programming is at its peak now in Georgia and
we are delighted to introduce this new format to our viewers. We believe Boot Camp will be of particular interest as Georgia has just
entered into an intensive dialogue process with NATO which means that we are on
our way to becoming a fully fledged NATO country, and there is now huge
interest in national army issues among ordinary people.”

Rustavi 2 Broadcasting Company operates the largest TV
network in Georgia, and was the first company in the region to embrace the
concept of formats. For the last four years, it has produced successful local
versions of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?,
The Weakest Link, Brainiest, The Bar
and The Apprentice among others.
