Bravo U.K. Unveils New Slate of Football Programming

LONDON, January 25:
Following its recent rebranding, the British men’s entertainment channel Bravo
has unveiled a new lineup of programming centered around soccer.

Bravo’s new commissions
for this year include Real Football Factories International, a factual documentary series produced by production
company Zig Zag. The series follows British actor Danny Dyer as he travels
across Europe and South America and gives viewers an exclusive insider view of
some of the world’s most fierce and bitter football rivalries and football
derbies. The series follows the success of Real Football Factories, which debuted earlier last year. This time, Real
Football Factories International
will
have an extended run of eight one-hour episodes.

Additional
football-related programming includes two 90-minute specials produced by Zig
Zag North: Britain’s Greatest Football Managers (working title) and Football: The Glory Years (working title).

Celia Taylor, Bravo’s
director of programs, noted: “These commissions represent the two faces of
football. The darker, scary, adrenaline fuelled world of hooliganism and the
celebratory love of football and its best-known characters. Either way I’m
excited about bringing more top notch football programming to the Bravo
audience again this year.”

All commissions were
ordered by and will be executive produced by Oliver Wilson, Bravo’s
commissioning editor of factual. Danny Fenton and Peter Day will executive
produce Real Football Factories International for Zig Zag Productions, while Fenton and Bob
Sandy will executive produce Britain’s Greatest Football Managers and Football: The Glory Years.
