New Stargate Movies from MGM

LOS ANGELES, January 16:
MGM is extending its popular Stargate franchise with two movies, Stargate: The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum, that will be made available for television
broadcast and home entertainment release.

Stargate SG-1, recently cancelled by SCI FI Channel in the U.S.,
is the longest-running science-fiction series in U.S. TV history. It has been
sold to some 120 countries. SCI FI continues to air the spin-off series Stargate
Atlantis
.

Stargate SG-1 is to MGM Television what the James Bond, Pink Panther and the Rocky
franchises are to our feature film unit," said Charles Cohen, the senior
executive VP of MGM. “We are committed to continuing to release new SG-1 content and its Stargate Atlantis spin-off, and we're also steadfast in our
dedication to extending the franchise. Stargate is an indelible brand for MGM and we will support
it well into the future."

The two new features will
be written and produced by Brad Wright and Robert Cooper. Stargate: The Ark
of Truth
will bring a conclusion
to the primary story line of the past two seasons of the SG-1 television series. In Stargate: Continuum the SG-1 team embark on new adventures.
