Xilam Announces Shuriken School Deals

PARIS, January 9: Xilam has signed a slate of licensing
deals in France for action comedy series Shuriken School, currently airing on
France 3.

The 26×30-minute show, co-produced with Spain’s Zinkia Entertainment, launched on France 3 in
July 2006 and aired Monday to Friday through the summer. It averaged a
32.4-percent share among 4-10 year olds and a 52.8-percent share among 11-14
year olds.

CITEL Video will release all 26 episodes on video and DVD
this fall, along with a 75-minute direct to video special. CITEL is handling
all French-speaking territories, excluding Canada.

Xilam has also inked a publishing deal with Hachette
Jeunesse, which is scheduled to release one title each in April, May, September
and October. An apparel deal has also been signed with FOPEM, which is
producing an exclusive range of pajamas and other kids’ clothes. Further, Xilam
has teamed up with ATM to produce stationery, including back-packs, handbags,
pencil cases, cell phone holders, sharpeners and rulers, that will hit retail
next month.
