GMTV Takes Oban Star Racers

LONDON, December 13: Buena Vista International Television
(BVITV) has reached a deal that brings the Jetix Europe series Oban Star
Racers to British terrestrial GMTV.

The 26×30-minute show chronicles the Great Race of Ōban—an
intergalactic competition that takes place every 10,000 years to determine the
winner of a mysterious Ultimate Prize and the balance of power within the
Galaxy. The serialized show, which fuses 3-D CGI and 2-D animation, is a
co-production between Jetix Europe and French studio Sav! The World Production
with additional co-production partners France 3, Super RTL, Bandai Visual and
Hal Film Maker. It launches in the U.K. next year.
