FME Takes on Castro Doc

LONDON, December 4: FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has
taken on the worldwide television distribution and home entertainment rights to
the controversial documentary feature 638 Ways to Kill Castro.

The 90-minute feature was produced by Daisy Goodwin’s Silver
River Productions for Channel 4 in time for the Cuban leader’s official 80th
birthday. It features interviews with former key aides of Castro, including
Fabian Escalante, ex-head of Cuban Intelligence, who alleges that there were
over 600 plots and conspiracies to end the life of the Cuban leader.

David Ellender, the CEO of FremantleMedia Enterprises
referred to the film as a “timely piece of documentary filmmaking. With Cuban
imagery commonplace today and U.S. foreign policy constantly in the headlines,
this film blends history, current affairs and numerous conspiracy theories to
form a hugely entertaining program. The stories are tragic, ludicrous, funny,
and bizarre and we are confident that we have a program that will engage
audiences the world over with what is a truly thought-provoking documentary.”
