FremantleMedia Signs Development Deal with Don Letts

LONDON, November 1:
FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has made an exclusive first-look development
deal with the Grammy Award-winning British director Don Letts to develop
content that can be exploited across television, home entertainment and
ancillary rights.

Letts is regarded as one
of the most influential voices in the music industry and has worked for decades
as a director, actor, writer and cinematographer. Letts’ work has been
exhibited at National Film Theatre in London, The Kitchen in New York, as well
as The Institute of Contemporary Art. In March 2003, Letts won a Grammy Award
for his work on the film Westway to the World featuring The Clash; and in 2005 he created the
award-winning film Punk:Attitude,
which is represented by FremantleMedia, documenting the 1970s punk revolution.

“We are absolutely over
the moon to be working with Don again,” says Pete Kalhan, the SVP of home
entertainment and archive sales at FME.
“Opportunities to collaborate with such an acclaimed producer and
director—a veritable doyen of the music industry—don’t come around
too often, so we’re very happy to have cemented such a great working
relationship. Don’s influence in the music world is beyond compare, and we’re
very much looking forward to working with him to produce more cutting-edge and
award-winning content that music fans will be able to enjoy 24/7 across
multiple platforms.”
