Globo Novela to Launch in Indonesia

JAKARTA, October 24: Globo
TV International’s hit novela Terra Nostra is
set to launch on Dori Media’s Televiva Vision 2 channel in Indonesia.

The show fills the Monday
to Saturday 7 p.m. slot, replacing another Globo title, Family
Ties
. The Brazilian distributor has a deal with Dori
Media that provides for the broadcast of 500 hours of Globo telenovelas per
year on Televiva Vision 2. The channel is also currently airing The Clone in
a 9 p.m. slot.

“Asia is an important market for Globo TV
International,” said Raphael Corrêa, the sales director of Globo TV
International. “This agreement seals our first major partnership in the region
and marks our entrance into the Asian continent. We chose stories with a
variety of themes that touch the hearts of an audience that is ever more
sophisticated and able to identify on the screen the technical qualities, the
esthetics, and the special content of TV Globo productions.”

Terra Nostra, written by Benedito
Ruy Barbosa and directed by Jayme Monjardim, has been sold into 87 markets. It
focuses on Giuliana (Ana Paula Arósio) and Matteo (Thiago Lacerda), who meet
and fall in love on board a ship while immigrating to Brazil at the beginning
of the twentieth century.
