BBC1, Tightrope Developing China Drama Series

LONDON, October 11: BBC1, along with independent Tightrope
Productions, is developing a four-part drama series about the West’s
relationship with China that is slated to air in 2008, according to Media
Guardian.

Written by playwright Howard Brenton, the four 60-minute
segments center on an English woman who travels across China in search of a man
with whom she has fallen in love. No cast has yet been announced.

Tightrope is operated by writer Paul Abbott and executive
producer Hilary Bevan-Jones. Its first drama series, The Innocence Project, will be broadcast on BBC1 next month. The company
has produced several one-off films and serials such as The Girl in
the Café
