Abbey Road, Falcon Beach Snapped Up by Broadcasters

CANNES/LONDON, October 11: Sundance Channel has come on
board for the new music series Live from Abbey Road in a deal with Fremantle International Distribution,
which has also inked a slate of deals on its new teen-skewing drama series Falcon
Beach
.

Sundance Channel will launch the series Live from Abbey
Road
in 2007. Set to launch in the U.K. in
November, the show is intended to tie in with the 75th anniversary of the
renowned Abbey Road music studios. In the 12 one-hour episodes, top musicians
like The Who, Paul Simon and Richard Ashcroft, among others, discuss their work
and perform.

Meanwhile, FID has licensed Falcon Beach, broadcast on Global TV Canada and ABC Family in the
U.S., into 24 territories. The new partners include Nova TV, Bulgaria; Mega
Channel, Greece; TVB, Hong Kong; TVNZ, New Zealand; Sony in Latin America and
ETV, Sri Lanka. They join a lineup that already includes SBS, Belgium; TV2
Zula, Denmark; RTE, Ireland; Channel 4, Finland; M6, France; IBC, Iceland; Hot,
Israel; TV Norge, Norway; NED Channel, Netherlands; Fox Televisjia, Serbia and
Montenegro; La Sexta, Spain; TV4, Sweden; Show TV, Turkey; BBC, U.K.; ABC
Australia; RTM, Malaysia; ABC 5, Philippines and UBC TV, Thailand.
