SKY Italia, Fastweb Sign Content Deal

MILAN, October 11: News Corp.-owned SKY Italia has reached
an agreement with telecommunications company Fastweb to distribute TV
programming over the Internet, according to the Associated Press.

The deal calls for video content from SKY to be available
over Fastweb’s broadband service during the first three months of 2007. At the
same time, SKY will make Internet and telephone services available to its
customers.

“The commercial understanding with SKY has particular
strategic relevance because it takes advantage of the best available
opportunities for convergence in terms of content distribution," said
Fastweb CEO Stefani Parisi.

The deal follows on the heels of Telecom Italia’s agreement with both
Sony Pictures and 20th Century Fox to distribute movies via its
broadband service.
